Worst surgery in Darlington even said by NHS Staff. Avoid this surgery like the plague if you value your health. My mother died of pneumonia due to COPD. They never issued an emergency antibiotics pack knowing full well she needed it. Her death is down to NEGLECT due to this surgery. I would be ashamed to work for them.
I have nothing but good words to say about Carmel - the doctors are consistently professional, compassionate and efficient. When visitng the doctor I have never felt constrained by time pressures - eachdoctor takes as long as they need with every patient and for that reason I am never upset or riled about waiting times. The receptionists have always been helpful and very efficient too - all in all I could not wish for a better practice
I've been with this surgery my whole life and my mum was even with them before I was born. I've never had any problems and find all the doctors sympathetic and kind. The receptionists themselves have gone out of their way for me when my mental health means I can't attend appointments. I can't fault them at all. Only thing I would suggest is online booking for appointments because it's a bit tricky to get appointments
Hospital asked me to get my dressing changed every 1-2 days to minimise the risk of infection after a minor op. Carmel Medical couldn't find any time slots for 3 days and then insisted it would be a repeat prescription as they need to order-in the items?? Just needed 10mins to clean and re-bandage with qualified Practice Nurse not even GP.Surely they have such basic medical items to hand?Rubbish service and then no easy way to follow-up any compliant on-line.
I visited Dr penney about my aching joints on my knees .He got very aggressive .And raised his voice saying there are people dying of cancer and your worried about your legs Absolutely stupid i can only think it was for some other reason may be he heard about my previous complaint and thought i was wasting NHS time .Well i am a God fearing person and feel it is my moral duty .So how dare he cast assertions on my integrity .He said so you think you know more about Medicine than me.Well i never thought that .And he must think he can out philosophise me because he is a doctor that will be the day..
