Rang up April 2018. Asked for bike wheels to be trued and gears to be adjusted, was told 50 service would cover this. Brought bike in, told assistant what was required, left bike.Shop called me later on next day to tell me that bike wheels to be trued was 20 per wheel in addition to the 50 service!! After discussion they settled on 1 wheel as the front had very little truing to be done.The bike was a ladies Dawes hybrid. Went on bike ride with my wife after collection, found out the gears were just the same, bag of spanners but some bike bits had been cleaned! Paid 70 for a job that was only partially done and even that was just "cleaning bits" that weren't even that dirty. Oh yes! They trued the back wheel up which must have taken 15 minutes!Never again, go to Caygill's in Richmond. Professionals, they listen to the problems you describe and then fix for a reasonable cost. Jeez 70...
I've recently purchased a bike from wheelbase North East and I have to say the customer service from the the staff there is impeccable especially the shop manager Adam!! Who was absolutely brilliant great advice and exceptional at his job. I highly recommend that you go see Adam to get you rolling on new wheels

I carefully researched the best place to buy my Specialized from and these guys (despite being 200 miles from me) not only did the best deal tailored for me, but excellent friendly and very knowledgable customer service. Guided me through initial advice, to whats needed for set up and aftercare. Looking for reasons to buy more gear from them. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend.
After having a couple of bad experiences with two other bike shops Wheelbase Darlington is a breath of fresh air. Very helpful staff and manager, with good communication. Excellent bike shop. I will be visiting again. Five star experience.
